Grenoble
You’re starting to know me: while I don’t make it a specialty, I really enjoy extreme weather. Back in Grenoble last week, I was well served. Rain, snow, fog everything was there, giving me the chance to capture images full of character, just the way I like them.
More accustomed to the seaside or the countryside, the mountains remain for me an environment that is both magnetic and unsettling. There is this sense of calm strength that draws me in. That mass of earth asserting itself, impervious. But approaching the peaks requires a lot of effort, and the risks are almost constant. I often think that, fortunately, no one sees me in some of these situations: no fully rational mind could endure it. (It also makes me think that one day I should maybe write a blog post about the times I genuinely scared myself while shooting in nature.)
In short, below you’ll find a handful of shots taken during my Alpine stay.
Tell me which atmospheres you liked the most; for my part, I believe fog remains my absolute favorite ambiance.
