Right now, it’s not easy to keep up with the pace I’ve set for myself — between back-to-back exhibitions and all the preparation they require… But here is, nonetheless, the recap of this 20th week.

Accident

With film photography, there’s always an element of unpredictability. So many steps can throw the process off course: storage, handling, shooting, developing… And that’s precisely what I find so compelling about the medium. While an unexpected result might frustrate me in digital, I accept and even welcome it when shooting on film.

Over time, I’ve also learned to draw a clear line between my digital and analog work. Digital pushes me toward a polished aesthetic, with carefully constructed compositions and close attention to every detail. On the other hand, in analog photography, I actively seek out grain and imperfections to the point where I sometimes intentionally leave dust or other artifacts in the image.

I don’t express the same things with each medium, and I feel incredibly lucky to have multiple tools at my disposal to convey different artistic intentions.
