Continuing the Photographic Chronicles with a selection of images from the ninth week.
Still driven by my desire to step away from Paris, I explored the Montmorency Forest during this ninth week of the year. Known for its beauty and unfamiliar to me, I wanted to see it for myself.
I took the train from Gare du Nord towards the northwest of Île-de-France, heading to the town of Taverny. Once there, I made my way to the forest, discovering along the way a church and its cemetery nestled deep in the woods.
Fins and Snorkel
If you've been following me for a while, you know that rain is never an obstacle for me—quite the opposite. With my waterproof boots, long raincoat, waterproof camera bag, and weather-sealed camera, I’m always ready to face the elements.
You could say I’m waterproof!
However, my weak spot remains my pants, which, under heavy and prolonged rain, eventually become soaked. As I walked the forest paths, I quickly realized this would be a real problem.
With every step, my pants felt like they weighed five kilos, and the water began spreading to the rest of my clothes through capillary action.
I had planned to walk a fifteen-kilometer route through the woods, but after covering only a third of the distance, I had to accept that I needed to adjust my ambitions. With water up to my ankles and streets turned into rivers, I made my way to the nearest train station back to Paris.
The photos below are the ones I managed to take during this outing. Fortunately, quantity is not what matters most—I still brought back some interesting shots from this rainy adventure.
