We are in February 2025, and here it is, exactly 10 years since I started photography. To mark this anniversary, I’ve chosen to reflect on this decade of adventures through several articles that will be published throughout February on my blog.
Although I began photography in 2015, it was in 2017 that I decided to make it my main activity. This second article will revisit that pivotal moment and the years that followed.
A crazy challenge ?
Driven by the positive feedback from the previous two years and drawn to the opportunity to live from my passion, I decided to put geography aside and fully dedicate myself to artistic creation.
In March 2017, I took part in my first exhibition. I remember a weekend full of encounters and encouraging discussions, a tremendous success in terms of esteem, but in the end... no sales.

During my first year, I must have taken part in four or five exhibitions. It was finally in the summer, during an exhibition in Arles at the festival, that I made my first sale. For me, symbolically, it confirmed that my choice was viable and that living from the sale of my photos was truly possible.
By the way, eight years later, this first buyer is still part of my circle of collectors. And while my client base has expanded over time, many of you reading these lines have been following me since that very first year. A huge thank you for your support, your continued trust, and your loyalty.
The Big Apple
During this formative period, I also undertook two significant trips: the Faroe Islands and New York.
While my trip to the Faroe Islands remains an unforgettable experience I still think about every week, it is especially the one to New York that would truly allow me to stand out on the artistic scene.
In fact, the images from these trips are still visible on my website, here and here.
Captured just minutes apart, these two photos taken in New York earned me numerous distinctions and awards. Below is one of these photos:

It was actually by exhibiting one of these two photos at a fair that I caught the attention of a gallery owner, who then offered me the opportunity to exhibit in her gallery the following year.
Confirmation
A year after starting my professional career and three years after picking up a camera for the first time, I had the opportunity to hold my first solo exhibition in a gallery in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés district.
We worked together for two years before ending our collaboration at the end of 2019 before the arrival of COVID.
