Photography Differently: Immersion and Practical Experience
Today, I had the pleasure of guiding a client during a photography course. An experienced amateur, she wanted to take a 4-hour session to refine her skills. While my courses are usually held in a fixed setting, she suggested meeting in Paris. I decided to take a different approach, offering a format closer to my half-day workshop—a journey through the capital to explore different photographic styles.
Beyond Technique: The Photographer’s Mindset
Within the first hour, she realized that a photographer’s attitude is almost as important as technical mastery. Photography isn’t just about controlling aperture or shutter speed—it’s also about positioning yourself in space, anticipating moments, and sometimes taking that small step aside that turns an average photo into a great one.
A Moment of Exchange
For me, photography lessons are above all a space for human connection and shared experiences. We discussed her photography projects, and I offered guidance and ideas to help her move forward. We also talked about exhibitions, different photographic movements, and put past and contemporary photographers' work into perspective with our own practice.
Finally, I shared valuable insights gathered over my years of experience—those small yet crucial details that make all the difference in key moments.
I also gain a lot from these exchanges, learning from your observations and sometimes your strong convictions, allowing us to grow together.
So, if you’d like to benefit from my guidance and refine your vision, why not book your own workshop today? [Book here]
